Description

BritFlex S2 Rapidset is suitable for fixing different tiles including ceramics, slate, limestone, marble, porcelain, terrazzo and mosaics to a differing number of surfaces where slight movement is a factor. This includes all timber floors such as tongue and groove and floating floors. If used externally then a solid bed method of fixing is recommended.

BritFlex S2 Rapidset is suitable for both matted and piped underfloor heating.

Words From Our Valued Clients

4.8/5

Flexible enough for wooden floors

I needed to tile over a tongue and groove wooden floor that had a bit of bounce. My usual S1 adhesive wouldn't have coped. This S2 gear is rubbery enough to flex with it. Six months later, zero cracks.

Colin F. (Pro Tiler)

Peace of mind on timber substrates

Yes, it costs more than standard rapid set, but for peace of mind on timber substrates, it's priceless. You can actually feel the difference in the mix; it's much richer.

M. Reynolds

Essential for freeze/thaw cycles

Used this for 900x600 porcelain slabs outside. The S2 flexibility is essential for the freeze/thaw cycles we get in the UK. Rock solid bond.

GreenLeaf Renovations

Handles movement on chipboard perfectly

Tiling on first-floor chipboard is always risky due to vibration. BritFlex S2 handles the movement perfectly. I wouldn't use anything else now.

Harry D.

Accurate pot life and strong bond

You have to work tidy because the 40-minute pot life is accurate. But once it grabs, it's not letting go. Grouted it the same afternoon.

T. Baker

Solved heat expansion issues

I had a conservatory floor where tiles kept popping due to the heat expansion. Re-laid them with this S2 adhesive and they haven't budged since.

S. Iqbal

Perfect for translucent marble

Used the white version for some translucent marble. Kept the stone colour pure and bonded incredibly well to the plywood subfloor.

Prestige Paving

Smooth mixing and spreading

Despite being heavily polymer-modified, it mixes up smoothly without lumps. Spreads nicely on the trowel.

L. Campbell

Don't risk S1 on tongue and groove

If you are tiling over tongue and groove, don't risk it with S1. Get this S2. It absorbs the flex so your grout lines don't crack.

Jimmy "The Tiler"

Excellent coverage despite density

Usually, S2 adhesives are so dense you lose coverage, but I got a good 4.5m² out of this bag comfortably.

R. Donovan

Standard spec for high-end wet rooms

We specialize in high-end wet rooms. This is our standard spec adhesive now. It handles the tanking systems and thermal movement effortlessly.

Elite Bathrooms

Noticeably stickier and more elastic

First time using an S2 adhesive. It feels stickier and more elastic than normal stuff. Tiles felt solid straight away.

Your Questions, Answered

The "S" rating refers to flexibility. S1 is "Deformable," but BritFlex S2 is "Highly Deformable". This means S2 can bend and flex significantly more than S1, making it essential for substrates with high movement, like floating floors or timber.

Yes. Unlike most adhesives, BritFlex S2 is specifically suitable for floating wooden floors and tongue and groove timber. Its high polymer content allows it to absorb the vertical deflection (bounce) that cracks standard adhesives.

Because of the high rubber/polymer content, the density is higher. A 20kg bag will cover approximately 4.5 sq.m at a 3mm bed depth. This is slightly less than standard adhesives, so be sure to order enough.

Yes, it is suitable for Interior and Exterior Use. The S2 flexibility makes it the best choice for outdoor patios where thermal shock (hot sun to freezing rain) causes significant expansion and contraction.

It is a Rapid Setting adhesive. You can walk on the floor and grout after just 3 hours. The pot life (working time) is 40 minutes, so mix only what you can use in that time.

We always recommend priming timber or porous surfaces with BritPrime Grip & Seal before applying. This prevents the wood from sucking the moisture out of the adhesive too quickly and ensures the strongest possible chemical bond.
