Words From Our Valued Clients

4.8/5

Used this during the July heatwave

Standard rapid set was going off in the bucket in 20 minutes, but this Slowset gave me a full 3 hours to work comfortably. Saved me a fortune in wasted adhesive.

Dave H. (Tiler)

Perfect for large DIY projects

I'm a DIYer tiling a large kitchen floor (40sqm). I was terrified of the glue drying before I could get the tiles level. This stuff gave me plenty of time to adjust and re-check my levels. Brilliant.

Sarah Jenkins

Ideal for complex patterns

Laying a complex herringbone pattern takes time. You can't rush the cuts. This adhesive allowed me to mix a full bag and work at my own pace without it stiffening up.

Mike T.

Genuine S1 flexibility

Used over ply-lined floorboards. The S1 rating is genuine—it has enough flex to handle the subfloor movement. Solid as a rock.

B. Williams

Makes the job enjoyable

Finally, an adhesive that lets you enjoy the job! I could spread larger areas at once without worrying about the skinning over. Highly recommended for large format porcelain.

Gareth P.

Perfect for natural stone

Bought the white S1 Slowset for natural stone. It didn't stain the limestone and was really creamy to trowel out. 10/10.

Jessica M.

Essential for outdoor work

Used this for an outdoor patio. Because you have to solid bed external tiles, it takes longer per tile. The 3-hour pot life was essential for getting 100% coverage properly.

Tom Build Services

Excellent coverage and consistency

Got exactly the 5m² per bag as stated on the packet. Mixes up smooth with no lumps.

K. Evans

Ideal for underfloor heating

Tiled over a piped underfloor heating screed. The slow set allows the moisture to release gradually, which I prefer for UFH systems. No shrinkage cracks.

Heating & Tiling Co.

Good grab for wall tiles

Even though it's slow setting, the grab is still good. My wall tiles didn't slip down while I was working on the row above.

Peter R.

Great value and quality

Cheaper than the big brands but performs just as well. The bags are strong too, didn't split in the van.

S. Clarke

Perfect for luxury natural stone work

Natural stone needs care. This slow set white adhesive allows me to take my time ensuring every tile is perfectly flat and clean before moving on.

Luxury Bathrooms Ltd

Perfect timing for large format tiles

When you're laying 600x1200 tiles, you can't rush. This gear gives me plenty of time to back-butter and adjust levels without panicking. Sticks like glue.

Steve R. (Pro Tiler)

Lifesaver for herringbone work

I used this for a herringbone hallway. Standard rapid set goes off too quick for all the cuts I had to make. This semi-rapid was a lifesaver. No wasted bags.

Graham T.

Stays workable in the heat

Used this during the heatwave when rapid set was going off in 15 mins. This semi-rapid kept its consistency for nearly 2 hours. A joy to use.

B. Davies

Flexibility that lasts

Tiled a bathroom floor over overboarded floorboards. The S1 flexibility is evident. It's been down 6 months with heavy traffic and not a single cracked grout line.

Matt C.

Perfect for natural stone

Bought the white version for some natural limestone. Kept the stone colour true and didn't stain. Really creamy consistency.

Sarah L.

Non-slip performance is genuine

Non-slip claim is true. Used it for heavy ceramic wall tiles in a shower and they stayed put immediately. Didn't need spacers to hold them up.

J. P.

Handles outdoor conditions

My builder recommended this for my outdoor porcelain steps. Set solid overnight and has handled the frost perfectly.

Davey G.

Great value compared to premium brands

Comparable to the big name brands that cost £30+ a bag. This does exactly the same job. Highly recommend.

Your Questions, Answered

The main benefit is time. BritFlex S1 Slowset gives you a 3-hour pot life, compared to just 40 minutes for rapid set. This is crucial during hot weather (which speeds up setting times) or for complex layouts where you need more time to cut and position tiles.

You need to wait 24 hours before grouting or allowing foot traffic. Because it sets slowly, walking on it too soon can disturb the bond and cause unevenness.

Yes, it is suitable for Interior and Exterior Use. In fact, it is often preferred for outdoor porcelain because the extended open time allows you to achieve the solid bed (100% coverage) required for external paving more easily.

Yes, it is Suitable for Wooden Flooring. The "S1" classification means it is polymer modified and flexible, allowing it to absorb the vibration and movement of timber substrates without cracking.

Absolutely. It is compatible with both matted and piped underfloor heating systems. The flexibility allows for thermal expansion and contraction.

A 20kg bag will cover approximately 5sq.m at a 3mm bed depth. If you are using large format tiles that require a thicker bed (e.g., 6-10mm), you will get less coverage per bag.
