Description

A flexible, alkali resistant, nitrile waterproofing tape to be used in conjunction with Brit AquaSeal for sealing edges and expansion joints.

Cut the sealing tape to the required length and press onto the fresh Brit AquaSeal compound, which serves as the adhesive base. Ensure that there is a tape overlap of at least 5cm. Use a smoothing trowel to level out any uneven  areas or distortions.

Apply two generous coats of Brit AquaSeal over the installed waterproofing tape, ensuring full coverage.

You can't just paint the liquid into a corner and hope for the best

You can't just paint the liquid into a corner and hope for the best; it will crack. This tape gives it the strength it needs. Easy to bed in.

The 50m trade roll is a steal

I do a lot of wet rooms, so the 50m trade roll is a steal. Saves me buying those little 5m packs every time. Good quality fabric too.

This nitrile stuff is flexible and stays put

Some tapes are really stiff and pop out of the corner before the gum dries. This nitrile stuff is flexible and stays put once you press it into the AquaSeal.

Tough and rot proof for outdoor jobs

Used this to seal the joints on an external balcony before tiling. It's tough and rot proof, which gives me peace of mind for outdoor jobs.

The 10m roll was exactly enough

First time tanking a shower. The 10m roll was exactly enough to do the vertical corners and the floor-to-wall junction. Very reassuring.

The fabric edge is wide enough to get a really good grip

The fabric edge is wide enough to get a really good grip in the adhesive compound. Doesn't fray when you cut it either.

Tony B.

They work perfectly together

I bought this with the 5kg AquaSeal drum. They work perfectly together. The liquid soaks through the mesh edge and locks it solid.

P. O'Sullivan

Not so thick that it bulges out the tiles

It's strong, but not so thick that it bulges out the tiles in the corner. You can tile right over it without kicking the tiles out.

Alkali resistant is important

Being alkali resistant is important when using cement-based products. Cheap tapes rot over time; this one clearly won't.

Leaking at the floor joint - now bone dry

My shower was leaking at the floor joint. Stripped it back, taped the joint with this, and re-tanked. Bone dry ever since.

Scissors glide through it

Scissors glide through it. Easy to get the lengths right. I recommend pre-cutting all your pieces before you start mixing the tanking.

Sticking with the Brit Aqua brand guarantees quality

I've used generic tapes before that delaminated. Sticking with the Brit Aqua brand guarantees quality. Highly recommended.

Your Questions, Answered

No. You use the Brit AquaSeal compound itself as the adhesive base. The wet tanking liquid acts as the glue, soaking into the fabric mesh for a permanent bond.

5m Roll: Good for a single standard shower corner repair. 10m Roll: Ideal for tanking a full standard shower cubicle (vertical corners + floor tray). 50m Roll: The trade choice for multiple bathrooms or commercial projects.

Yes. It is specified for Internal and External Use. It is Resistant to Aging and Rot Proof, making it perfect for balconies, terraces, or external wet areas.

Nitrile rubber is highly flexible and durable. Being Alkali Resistant is crucial because tile adhesives and cement are alkaline; standard fabrics would rot and degrade over time, causing leaks. This tape is built to last.

If you need to join two pieces of tape (e.g., on a long wall or corner), ensure there is a tape overlap of at least 5cm. This ensures a continuous waterproof barrier without weak spots.

It is designed for ease of use. Simply stir well before use, then apply evenly to the substrate using either a wool roller or brush. This makes it accessible for both professionals and DIYers.

To ensure an Impenetrable Watertight Seal, the final thickness must be at least 1mm. We recommend building this up in layers rather than one thick gloopy coat.

You should apply a second coat 90° to the first coat. This "cross-hatching" technique ensures that no pinholes are missed and guarantees a uniform, seamless barrier.

The formula is Fast Drying. The first coat is usually dry in approximately 3 hours (at a temperature of +20°C). Once dry to the touch, you can apply the second coat.

5kg Drum (FAS50): Ideal for a standard domestic shower enclosure or small wet room. 25kg Drum (FAS25): Perfect for large commercial jobs, multiple bathrooms, or professional tilers who want to buy in bulk for better value.

Yes. AquaSeal is suitable for use in domestic and commercial situations. Its tough, durable nature makes it capable of withstanding the high demands of commercial wet rooms.

It is designed to be "sandwiched" into the tanking compound. Apply a layer of fresh Brit AquaSeal to the corner or joint. Cut the sealing tape to the required length and press onto the fresh compound. Use a smoothing trowel to remove air pockets. Apply two generous coats of AquaSeal over the top to fully encapsulate it.
